Teaching at Cayeux

Jon Maynard trained in painting at Sir John Cass College, London and at Manchester University in the 1970s. He then completed the Postgraduate training for teaching and has worked for many years as a teacher and painter. He has had works exhibited at the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy. His particular speciality is watercolours. His latest commission was a painting of the Lloyd's Building in the City of London.

Tutorials are informal, fun and effective. Jon's many years of teaching have equipped him with the skills necessary to bring out the best in each learner.

The house accommodates 10 guests, some of whom may be non-painting partners. The size of the tutorial group is 5 painters.

The composition of the paintings will draw on the natural beauty of the area. The special light on the Opal Coast will be an inspiration for the paintings; the opal of the sea, the gold of the sand-dunes, multi-coloured buildings, the many shades of green of the fields and marshes and the dappled tones of the woodlands and cliffs.
