Cayeux is a sleepy seaside town on the Opal Coast, just 75 minutes by car from the French side of the Channel Tunnel. The local landscape, with its sweeping beaches, dramatic cliffs, pretty woodland, local medieval towns and marshlands swarming with birds, will provide the inspiration you need to develop your artistic talents. Victor Hugo said, 'Celui qui a vu Paris et Cayeux a tout vu' ('He who has seen Paris and Cayeux has seen everything').

You will stay in the artist's elegant 6 bedroom 19th century townhouse, which is situated two minutes walk from the beach. You will be regaled with good French cooking, both at home and in local restaurants.

The course is designed for beginners and more experienced painters. You will develop your artistic skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, under the guidance of Jon Maynard. Every effort would be made to meet your individual requirements, so that you can develop your unique style at your own speed.

You could travel with the tutor to his French home, or join the party there. Non-painting partners are very welcome. There is plenty for them to do to ensure that they have a great time; for example visits to Dieppe, Rouen, the battlefields of the Great War, the nearby golf course or a swim in the sea!
